Bethlehem Diary - November 5, 1763
[Symbol for Saturday] November 5 Br. Christ from Lynn and Sr. Gerhardin from Heidelberg arrived here; both, however, left the next day to return to their homes. Br. Gumpf from Yorktown also came for a visit. In the evening, the order from the Government in Philadelphia reached here, [stating that] all of the Indians, those in Nain as well as those who already fled to Nazareth from Weequetank, young and old, should come to Philadelphia, where they are to be directed to a residence where they will be more secure. This circumstance was afterwards laid before the Savior in the prayer gathering, with prayers and entreaties that He blessedly prevent all disadvantages for His affairs among the Indians in this land and not allow Himself to be robbed of any of those whom He chose and received as the wages of his pain. The Liturgy was with the Bride Song.
