ROTH, Johannes, from Sarmund i n Brandenburg , the first s.of Johannes and Anna Maria; served as missionary among the Indians and was pastor ofvarious churches ; d July 19,1790 (July 22 according to the Widows' Society Journal) in York, Pa.

 

PFINGSTAG, Maria Agnes, b Apr. 4, (?1725) in Stuttgard, Würtemberg, the first dau.of John Michael and Rosina, m. Ketschle; in 1737 came to America with parents; d Feb. 25, 1805 in Nazareth. Their son John was the first white child b in Ohio; other children were John Lewis, John David and John Benjamin.

Elizabeth Smith, who was b 1717 in East Haddom, Conn. and d 1771 in Bethlehem; and m. thirdly, Maria Christina Kuehn, widow Clauss, b May 19 ,1719; d Sep. 7,1782 in Schoeneck.

 

LANIUS, Margaretha Magdalena, from Cat ores twp., York co., Pa., the eighth child of Jacob and Julianna.

BOECKEL, Tobias, b Feb. 14, 1740 in Heidelberg twp. , Berks co., the third child of George Fredrick and Anna Elisabeth, mn. Rohrbach; shoemaker; played trumpet and trombone on church choir; d Sep. 29, 1815 in Bethlehem.

 

HECKEDORN, Anna Barbara, b 1740 in Cat ores twp. York co., he f it st dau.of Johannes and Catharina; taught school; d W 10,1823 in Bethlehem. They were survived by two sons, George and Godfrey, and a daughter, Rosina, wife of George W. Neisser; another daughter, Susan Benigna (d 1811) was the wife of John Frederick Rauch.
