· 1762 Brotherly Agreement

In an effort to establish principles by which all residents of the communities of Bethlehem and Nazareth would live, a contract was developed in 1754*. Signing this contract, the Brotherly Agreement, bound current and future members of the communities to live by the terms outlined in the agreement.

Changes in the communities' economic practices dictated modifications to the original agreement. The document provided here, the 1762 Brotherly Agreement, is a reflection of those changes.
