1. In exchange for a large loan the Electoral Saxon Government had leased the disused Barby castle on the Elbe River near Magdeburg to the Moravian Brethren. For many years it was the seat of a small house Congregation, the Theological Seminary and for a time even the Unity’s governing boards as well as their publishing arm.
